NAPC is now accepting applications for the Special Call: Disaster Planning & Recovery Commission Assistance & Mentoring Program (CAMP) Training. This opportunity will help States, Tribes, and local communities strengthen disaster planning, risk management, communication, and recovery efforts related to historic and cultural resources. In addition to disaster planning and recovery, other topics may include preservation commission fundamentals and traditional CAMP offerings. Selected communities will receive a customized in-person or virtual CAMP training at no cost, with NAPC working with each selected applicant to develop the training, identify topics and priorities, and provide qualified trainers. Who can apply?
Applicants must be located in or represent a community within a declared disaster area in 2023 and/or 2024.
Applications are due November 16, 2026. This program is made possible through a task agreement with the National Park Service targeting communities eligible for FY2025 Emergency Supplemental Historic Preservation Fund funding. We encourage eligible communities to apply and take this opportunity to strengthen their disaster planning and preparedness for historic and cultural resources.
