This comprehensive, in-person training is designed for:
Native Nations with homelands in the Great Lakes region
The Great Lakes region includes: Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri
Institutions with collections affiliated to the Great Lakes region
Organizations with regional or national influence in repatriation work
Participants will receive hands-on training and receive a certificate in:
NAGPRA regulations and legal requirements
Collaboration and consultation
Compliance strategy and documentation
This training is built for practitioners actively working in repatriation. Sessions include mock scenarios, collaborative problem-solving, talking circles, and focused workshops on compliance and museum management. Participants leave with practical tools they can use immediately.
